Yellowstone

Sleek, gallery-based website for luxury chalet

Première Neige run a superior luxury chalet in the resort of Sainte Foy, called Yellowstone. Catering for large groups and those looking to be pampered for their ski holiday it is the ultimate in luxury and service.

The Plan

As it has so much to offer and is a destination in itself, Yellowstone needed its own unique presence on the web. The strategy was to take key parts of the family-oriented Première Neige website, (such as details about the resort of Sainte Foy) and roll it together into one concise package.

The Solution

With a wealth of information and photography already produced for the recently refurbished chalet, we set about condensing this material, organising it into a simple and elegant design.

Key information is kept concise and is split into three main sections along the top of the page: the chalet, the service and the resort. These cover everything a visitor needs to know about a stay at Yellowstone. Other site-wide links are present, but are not given the same level of importance.

A key feature of the design was the emphasis on photography. The chalet's look is its biggest selling point and as such we made sure that strong imagery was clear to see.

Each gallery uses a piece of Javascript that elegantly fades through a set of images and also allows visitors to pick an individual image at any point on the main pages.

An additional flourish to the website is a feature called sIFR. It enables browsers to render any font without having the original installed. Used purely for aesthetic reasons because it does use Flash, it still remains entirely accessible, being read as proper HTML by browsers and search engines. For those that don't have Flash installed on their browsers it reverts gracefully to a standard web-font.

The Result

A polished looking website that shows prospective customers what they can expect from this amazing, luxury chalet.
